What is a Moky Class?Well where do we start? You will laugh, sing, shout and sweat! What makes us different from most fitness classes is that we bring lots of comedy to class, we work hard to make it as much fun as possible because we want to have a good time doing it and we want you to leave feeling great! Moky is not like any other fitness class you have ever been to. We use all the best pop and chart hits (you'll often hear our songs on the radio or TV!) and original choreography which gives a fantastic cardio and toning workout! Just ask our customers and see the Facebook page Moky! www.facebook.com/mokyfitWhat do I need to wear to a Moky class?Exercise/loose comfortable clothes and indoor trianers. Most importantly, shoes should be comfortable with plenty of cushion and lateral support. We recommend you bring a towel and plenty of water to class, as you will sweat! What if I can't get the steps right away?Don't worry, you don't have to be a dancer to Moky! The steps are very easy to follow and once you see the basic moves for each routine, which repeat often, you'll catch on. The routines are designed so you can get a good workout even if it is your very first Moky class. The most important thing is to just move, have fun and don't take it too seriously! You can always see us before or after class if you want to review a step in more detail or have questions. Remember, Moky was created so that anyone and everyone can do it. We also have a Mastering Moky section on our Instructional DVD's which break the moves right down for you. What are the benefits of a Moky class?Prepare to sweat. Moky will get your heart pumping and increase your endurance - you'll have more energy and burn fat. The moves will work your core (abs, back and hips) to strengthen and define them. Besides the physical benefits, Moky is a "feel good" workout, not a dreaded chore - the music is motivating and fun, you'll leave happy. It's a good mental break from our busy lives - time for yourself, which we all need! Obviously, results vary by individual and depend on diet and frequency of exercise, but you may be pleasantly surprised by the scale, the mirror, by how much better your clothes fit, and by how much more energy you have! Can I come to a Moky class if I'm pregnant? No, as our classes are very physical and the intensity is high (higher than the average keep fit class) we have taken medical advice and based on this we don't longer allow pregnant women to take part. This is for your own health and safety. Once baby is born and the midwife or GP gives the all clear you are very welcome back. Congratulations to all the soon to be Moky mummies!I have a bad back/knees/ankles/elbow, vertigo, etc. Can I still Moky? Please let us know if you have an injury or condition that may cause some discomfort. If you have not exercised in a long time, please see your doctor to obtain clearance to start classes. Moky can be very intense, so go at your own pace and listen to your body.Take a break when you need one. You don't have to keep up with everyone else. Don't overdo it, we want you to have fun and come back! Can anyone Moky?Of course! Moky is for everyone aged 16 and over - there isnt a class that is so accommodating to all ages, sizes, shapes and abilities! 13-16 year-olds must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian at all times and also give their consent for their child to participate in a Moky class, accepting full responsibility for their health and safety. We do specialised MokyKidz sessions for children aged 3-12 - see the MokyKidz page for more info.
